Town Council Meetings

Town residents are encouraged to attend and participate in Town Meetings on the third Wednesday of every month.  Meetings are held in the Town's Municipal Building, 5508 Arapahoe Drive (behind McDonald's Restaurant).  Meetings start at 8:00 pm.  The next regular Town meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 8:00 p.m.

Mayor and Council Workshop Meetings

The Mayor and Town Council conduct an informational/workshop/planning meeting at 7:30 pm on the first Monday of the month, approximately 2 weeks prior to the Town Meeting (or the following Tuesday if Monday is a holiday).  The public is welcome to attend and participate in this meeting. The next workshop meeting is expected to be held on Monday, January 5, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building.


Other Town Meetings
Occasionally the Mayor and Town Council will hold special meetings. Under the State of Maryland's Open Meetings Act, the Mayor and Town Council are required to announce all meetings in which a quorum of the Town Council is present (four members, including the Mayor) and the public has a right to attend and speak at these meetings. When the Forest Heights News Report is provided information about these meetings, they will be listed below.

 A meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 29, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. to discuss personnel matters related to the Forest Heights Police Department. It is expected that the Council will go into an executive session, closed to the public, for the discussion.

Other meetings, such as when Council members meet with their constituents, or the citizen Recreation Council meets, will also be listed below when the Forest Heights News Report is informed about them.
