MEMORANDUM

In May, 2001, I was elected Mayor of the Town of Forest Heights and was re-elected in May, 2003. It has been a privilege and honor to serve the citizens of the Town in this capacity. In recent days, it has become obvious that my continued service may serve only to exacerbate tensions and hard feelings that have developed since election of the new Council in May of this year.

During my tenure as Mayor, I have tried my very best to lead. I have tried to improve the safety of our streets and intersections, to reduce the number of vacant and dilapidated buildings and provide a safe environment for our children. Of these efforts I am justifiably proud. It is with great reluctance that I tender my resignation effective at the close of business on September 30, 2003, but I believe it is in the best interest of the Town that I do so. Thank you to all the citizens of Forest Heights for allowing me to serve as your Mayor.
